First-Time Mom’s Luxury Remote Work Getaway In Los Cabos

Being a first-time mom has been nothing short of a beautiful, life-changing experience—but let’s be real, it’s also exhausting! Between sleepless nights, endless diaper changes, and round-the-clock feedings, it’s become too easy to forget that I deserve a little break too. As a full-time writer making a living from the comfort of my home, I have the freedom to work anywhere I choose. It’s a privilege I deeply appreciate, and don’t take advantage of enough as a caregiver to an 8-month-old who demands my undivided attention.

A mini remote work getaway was exactly what I needed to recharge. Living in Los Angeles, a trip to Los Cabos was just a quick two-hour flight away, and Corazón Cabo Resort provided the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation—reminding me to embrace the Queen that I am!

Located on the dazzling blue shores of Medano Beach, this premiere Noble House Hotels & Resorts development is the first for the luxury resort line in Mexico. Every detail in the design reflects the $100 million investment that sets this luxury property apart from the lineup of beachfront hotels. The sleek, modern, ship-like tower showcases architectural brilliance, making it a true standout. With 187 thoughtfully designed rooms and 17 upscale suites, guests have ample opportunity to experience the best of Los Cabos in style and comfort.

The hotel boasts an impressive selection of luxury accommodations, including oceanside, pool-view, and city-view suites. I opted for a city-view room, which featured a private balcony perfect for admiring the dazzling lights of Cabo’s nightlife. Inside, a cozy living area with a plush couch became my go-to spot for enjoying daily breakfast via room service. The sleek, modern bathroom was a standout, designed with a unique wall that functioned as both a mirror and a window, allowing for breathtaking city views—even from the bathroom. A city view room at Corazon Cabo isn’t a bad choice for travelers looking for more budget-friendly luxury options.

The Perfect Blend of Mommy Wellness and Vacation

My itinerary was the perfect fusion of mommy wellness and vacation vibes. During my three-day Tuesday to Friday stay, I enjoyed mocktail-making classes, beachside morning yoga, a stylish remote work day at the resort’s beach club, and a breathtaking sunset whale-watching yacht experience. Prioritizing wellness was essential during my remote work getaway—I found the ideal balance between productivity, relaxation, self-reconnection, and indulging in incredible food and drinks.

I Released Negative Tension with Baja Moon Travel

On Wednesday morning, I started my day with a beachside yoga session led by Dulce Carranza with Baja Moon Travel. It was exactly the full-body workout I needed, and Dulce was incredibly attentive to everyone’s skill levels and physical sensitivities. Being eight months postpartum after a C-section, I appreciated her understanding approach—she guided me through poses, gently encouraged me to go deeper, and helped me ease back into my practice. Though I’ve been practicing yoga for years, I was a bit rusty, but Dulce quickly picked up on it. As a fellow mom who also gave birth via C-section, she offered not just guidance but also a sense of camaraderie, making the experience even more meaningful.

Learned How to Make A Tasty Mocktail

Mocktails are all the rage these days, and as a busy working mom, I don’t have the time, energy, or desire to indulge in drinking like I used to. A well-crafted mocktail is the perfect alternative when I want a refreshing pick-me-up without the party element. So, I was all in when Corazon Cabo arranged an onsite mocktail-making class for our group.

Led by their expert in-house mixologist and hotel manager, Leonardo Cortés, we learned how to use fresh, alcohol-free ingredients to create delicious mocktails featuring flavors like guava, orange juice, and even jalapeños for a spicy twist. First, we watched Leonardo craft a signature mocktail, which we all got to sample before stepping behind the beachside bar to mix our own—of course, with Leonardo there to guide us when needed. By the end of the class, I felt inspired and more confident about making mocktails at home, turning everyday moments into something special.

Enjoyed A Work Day At The Beach

When in Cabo, lounging at the beach club is a must. Corazon Cabo has its own beachfront oasis attached to the hotel, and my group was lucky enough to have two beds reserved for the day. Attentive waiters took our food and drink orders and adjusted the umbrellas to shield us from the blazing sun—unless, of course, you were there to tan.

I chose the shade, using the time to crank out a few articles while indulging in chips and guac alongside a tuna ahi poke bowl. This also marked the beginning of my group’s obsession with Corazon Cabo’s crispy rice tuna—we simply couldn’t get enough of the perfectly crunchy sushi rice paired with the flavorful, seasoned tuna. But more on the amazing food later.

The resort’s beach club offered the ideal setting to soak in the ocean breeze, enjoy great music, and revel in the rewards of my hard work. The joys of remote life!

I Nourished My Mind, Body, and Spirit At Sparitual

Sparitual lives up to its name—a seamless blend of spa luxury and soulful rejuvenation. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming staff walks you through their service offerings and pairs you with a masseuse. A staff member then escorts you into the spa, where a personal locker awaits with a plush robe and slippers. You can freshen up in the showers before and after your session or simply use the changing area to get comfortable.

Before the massage, I was invited to unwind in a tranquil waiting area with plush seating until a staff member escorted me to my masseuse. That’s when I met Sophia—the incredible therapist who delivered one of the best massages of my life.

Before starting, I was given time to undress and use the gong bells placed on the bed—a spa-friendly way to signal that I was ready. Sophia now ranks among my top three masseuses, right alongside Myko—the masterful therapist who gave me an unforgettable massage over a decade ago in New York before returning to China. Finding someone who could match his skill has been nearly impossible—until I experienced Sophia at Sparitual.

In just 50 minutes, she delivered a meticulous full-body massage, giving each area the perfect balance of care and attention. The scalp and forehead massage was pure bliss. I walked out of that room feeling physically lighter and mentally at peace.

Afterward, I returned to the tranquil waiting area, where I was served a warm cup of green tea with honey before heading to the co-ed wellness space. There, I indulged in the hot tub, steam room, and red-light sauna. The sauna, in particular, was an experience unlike any other—I had never stayed in one so long until Sparitual. It was the perfect temperature for meditation, reflection, and realignment. I then eased into the hot tub, which felt more like a perfectly heated pool, inviting me to linger. If work hadn’t been calling, I could have stayed for hours.

I Went Whale-Watching with the Waymakers

Many whale-watching excursions promise incredible sightings, only for guests to leave disappointed. But my yacht ride with Waymakers—ironically not advertised as a whale-watching experience—ended up being one of the most unforgettable whale encounters of my life.

We were surrounded by whales in what felt like peak season, witnessing them in full action. It was both thrilling and a little intimidating, but the excitement far outweighed the fear. We saw whales surfacing for air, flipping their tails and fins, spouting water, and even a mother whale keeping a watchful eye on her playful baby. It was pure magic.

As if that weren’t enough, we capped off the experience by watching the sunset with the iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas as our backdrop—a moment made for pictures and videos. Now, any excursion trying to sell me on a whale-watching experience has some serious competition after my ride with Waymakers.

I Really Came for the Food

The best part of my visit? The food—hands down. And I’m not ashamed to admit it. This was my second time in Cabo, and honestly, I came back for the food. I had been craving Cabo’s cuisine since my last visit two years ago, and this time, I was on a mission to indulge.

Night one kicked off with a tequila tasting and a tapas-style dinner at Corazon Cabo’s Rooftop 360. Each of us was given a cozy blanket to stay warm against the crisp winter air, while the rooftop offered breathtaking views of Cabo’s buzzing nightlife, twinkling in the distance. As for the food—pure perfection. We were served mushroom and beef empanadas, shrimp sushi rolls (which I skipped due to my allergy, though my group raved about them), vegetable wraps, steak tartare, and mouthwatering salmon. I don’t even eat beef, but I made an exception for that steak—and I have no regrets. Everything was delicious, and the tequila was the perfect bonus. I left feeling full, satisfied, and even more excited for the foodie adventures ahead.

Throughout my stay, I enjoyed breakfast and two dinners at Aleta, Corazon Cabo’s beachfront restaurant that serves up flavorful local cuisine all day long. Breakfast was a plate of huevos rancheros, which was absolutely perfect. For dinner on my second night, I indulged in lobster enchiladas, and yes—they were just as incredible as they sound. My final night was extra special, as Cabo Corazon arranged a private beachfront dinner, where we dined with our toes in the sand, enjoying incredible cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. The ambiance was nothing short of magical—something straight out of a proposal, honeymoon, or intimate wedding party dream. If you’re ever planning a special dinner for a loved one or thinking about popping the question, book a beachfront dinner at Cabo Corazon. It’s a memory you’ll cherish forever.

It’s also worth shouting out the amazing room service—every morning, I ordered avocado toast with a fried egg and a green smoothie, and it hit the spot every time. After my Waymakers yacht ride, I stopped by Camaleon Café, where the barista made me a rich, velvety vanilla latte—the perfect treat to warm up on a chilly night.

My Takeaway On My Remote Work Getaway

Overall, Corazon Cabo provided the perfect escape from my usual remote work routine, allowing me to trade my home office for ocean views and beachside breezes. From the cozy restaurant blankets to the unexpected whale sightings and beachfront dinners with fireworks lighting up the sky, this getaway was the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and the effortless vibes Los Cabos is known for.

A note to my new moms out there: Stepping away for a moment doesn’t mean you love your little one any less—it means you’re taking care of yourself so you can be the best mom possible. You’ve earned it!

Extra Note: Nursing moms, take note—traveling with breast milk can be tricky. I ran into issues on my return to Los Angeles and was forced to discard the precious liquid gold I had pumped for my baby while away. Mexico’s air travel regulations strictly prohibit liquids of any kind, unless you’re traveling with your child, in which case exceptions may be made. If you’re not traveling with your little one, your only option is to check the milk, which is far from ideal. Hopefully, Mexico will reconsider this policy to better accommodate nursing moms flying solo.
